EYEPISSGLITTER Studio + Kayvan of GOODMUSICALLDAY & Some of the Dopest Travel Photos You've Ever Seen.

Continuing with the Travel Essential Series, I had to ask Director A&R of Good Music All Day his thoughts on travel. After seeing so many great embarkments on his IG, I knew he had the scoop on great places to create, what to bring and just an open mind to traveling.

What is your favorite place to create and plan events?

Nashville has been my favorite so far, I've been overwhelmed by the response I've gotten from the city and specifically the Hip Hop/R&B communities here. As far as venues go, I'm definitely enjoying Mercy Lounge both for the atmosphere and location. They've been great to work with on events due to the professionalism, flexibility and quality of their staff (shout out to Adrienne for being the best.)

What are your must have travel essentials?

My Girlfriend, laptop, cellphone, too many pairs of shoes, headphones/headphone splitter, business cards, phone charging cases, and chargers for everything else.

Out of all of the music and arts festivals, which one would you love to curate and why?

I'd love to curate Pemberton Music Festival in Pemberton, British Columbia. Having attended for the first time this year, I was blown away by the scenery (the whole festival grounds are surrounded by snowcapped mountains, it's about 30 minutes from Whistler, BC) the cleanliness, and the weather. The crowds were all amazing and everyone was having such a fun time. It's also the biggest music festival in the PNW so that would be cool too.

What made this past #NextFriday show special for you?

This one is special for me because of the support I've received from everyone in the city. I'm proud of the lineup which is curated as more of a playlist than the traditional headliner/opener structure. This is only my 3rd show in the city and we almost hit capacity (500 people) on the 2nd which left me completely speechless. I also just turned 24 on Sep 2nd, so that's something else that makes it even more special.

What's the most interesting place you've been so far?

To preface my answer, my dad was born and raised in Iran and my mom is originally from Hong Kong. I've been lucky enough to travel to both of those places and honestly it's too difficult to choose which is more interesting. Iran is fascinating because the culture, history (Persian empire), art, food, and music are all so vastly different from the UK (where I grew up) and the US. The people are amazing and I feel so welcome every time I travel there. Hong Kong is just an incredible city with such a huge variety of things to do and see. Plus the food is bomb AF.

What is the recipe for a great adventure?

An open mind, the willingness to try new things, and a great travel companion(s)

Why is traveling so important to you?

Traveling is important to me because it allows you to experience new cultures and customs. It can open your eyes to new ways of thinking, and is absolutely a necessity in todays vastly "smaller" world.
