#eyeADVENTURE | Las Vegas Is For Grown A$$ Kids

image.jpg

No, really, there's more to do than gamble and eat at the many buffets I learned. I mean I had a feeling there was because more than 603,488 people live there and I'm sure they don't gamble daily, or maybe they do. But going back to Las Vegas I had expectations of fun and it ended up being fun on Fleek!

Besides having the best food, courtesy of Chef JKL; she made fresh Brussel sprout and meatless meat tacos when I first arrived, then we went to Sprout's aka The Club! But let's get jiggy surviving the 115 degrees weather like a real G I went to the pool tanned, attempted to hop the gate to get in the pool (shout out to D), played Heads Up at the Davis Party, it was a very LIT week. Yes, I could have done most of that in Tennessee but not really.

image.jpg

Next, it was adventure time. Waking up on a Saturday morning and hearing, "Yo, you want to drive to LA today," that was a dream come true, because I hadn't been to LA since I left Arizona. We ended up at a rooftop party at OHM in Hollywood celebrating a birthday then Teedra Moses performs! Just imagine if you had never been to a Teedra Moses show and you've been wanting to go, yes that feeling. Then we went to have some Italian food & next ended up at this Hipster strip club. We drove back from, well JKL did, Jamillah didn't even attempt, I tried but I started sleep talking and I knew that wasn't going to work.

But back to LAS VEGAS...

The Container Park

 Yes, that slide.

Yes, that slide.

 They all fall down.

They all fall down.

When you have the coolest friends in the world there's no telling where you will end up. In this case I ended up going down a 33 feet slide screaming at the top of my lungs, playing a life sized Connect Four (& fake winning), watching Doo Wop (That Thing) via Lauryn Hill on a huge outdoor screen and playing with Legos. Nope I didn't go to a regular park for children, but rather an adult park filled with other 21 somethings surrounded by great eats and bars. During the entire time in Las Vegas, besides watching seasons of Shameless and visiting the Seven Magic Mountains; I had the most fun there.

 Fake, but really winning.

Fake, but really winning.

At night it was still 100 degrees but a nice dry heat that I could stand. I suggest if you're looking for something to do and want to use all of that good energy or you just feel like having a grown a$$ kid moment, visit The Container Park in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tot's Tunes | August 8, 2016: Desert Vibes

Since being in the desert for the past week I've been listening to everything from TityBoi to Jerreau. From more mellow vibes to straight up LIT life (I mean I am in the city of flashing lights; Las Vegas). I may even have to do a part two to Desert Vibes because we took a quick Roadtrip to Los Angeles and then got a nice surprise when Teedra performed.

image.jpg

Jerreau - Champagne (Oh Baby)

I first heard this when DJ Meel sent it to me for the Selective Hearing Music Club. I was so here for not only the music club, but that initial EP I first received set the tone. One of my favorites ion the album is Champagne. Just listen, you'll love it too.

Kehlani - Gangsta

Something to slow it down and it just went with the desert heat. Can't go wrong with Kehlani.

Rick Ross x Skrillex - Purple Lamborghini

This joint really got me wild!! It's when you know you're about to have fun. I love when Skrillex collaborates with rap artists.

2Chainz - Get Out The Bed

This is one of those songs you blast and point at people like you were in the studio when Tityboi made the song.

Mac Miller ft. Anderson Paak - Dang!

So smooth, so very smooth.

Lil' Yachty - Shoot Out The Roof

How can you be so hyped and so calm at the same time...this song.

Dreezy ft. Wale - Afford My Love

I almost forgot about Dreezy then that joint with Gucci Mane dropped so I listened more and found more songs I liked. Afford My Love features Wale and of course we get a good storyline.

Jay Dot Rain - Ball & G

Initially, I had Dozen on here but it's old but still a favorite, but Ball & G is starting to become a selection as well now. If you download the iTunes playlist I have Dozen on there. But this one was a good smooth driving song. Wavy in the desert.

The Game ft. Kendrick Lamar - On Me

Nope it's not that new but it's already a classic. From the Erykah Badu sample of On & On to the extensive wordplay from The Game and Kendrick, it hasn't stopped playing since Documentary 2 dropped.

LIFE | When Defeat Looks Like T-Rex But Becomes One of The Biggest Lessons You'll Ever Learn

That would be the only explanation I can come up with at the moment. I'm so with the being more mindful and living in the moment. But it's not something about being about, it's actually practicing it. Not picking and choosing which moment but not doing so has caused me to miss "my chance" (in my head) and start over-analyzing my past decisions, more than once.

Quick scenario: You meet a bomb @$$ dude really quick and you become so caught up in what you want and distracted by your surroundings you miss what's in front of you. Yeah, not the first time but the SECOND TIME. Isn't there a quote about mistakes and the first time so when it's the second time it's your fault. Totally how I feel about the situation. So then you get to the point where you're trying to fix it. You make calls and you seem to try, maybe trying too hard (question mark face).

 Being Me. Bubbly. No Worries.

Being Me. Bubbly. No Worries.

But then you ask your friends...I repeat, You Ask Your Friends. Incoming on all the opinions that you asked for. It becomes a what should I do to, what exactly was I doing anyway. What you were going to do becomes a Lindsay, Lessie, Jaielle, Asia, Empress, Bzy, Neveah, Ashley, Sherm, MT, Sandy, Tavis said this and then you get a little confused. The once confident, bubbly, conversationalist becomes equipped with the fear of rejection and feels DEFEATED.

Oh and you can't forget you try to find everything wrong with him, so you're no longer attracted to the dude and you feel released from the situation. But then you get another turning point and it's a, "No, you're even more attractive, so I should try." But you don't want to because remember what your friends said.

I didn't choose the life, the life chose me. (sistacousin tattoo #2)

I didn't choose the life, the life chose me. (sistacousin tattoo #2)

Just then when you feel like you're getting to the lowest point of CrushVille, you get this sudden awareness of something bigger than getting the digits or starting this new found friendship, you get this...MINDFULNESS. You slip a little bit, but you do feel better moment by moment when talking to the right people, reading but most when you write it out.

I'm not sure what will happen, but I know I won't forget him. I'm also very sure I'll be writing about this again, in more of a humorous way.

As I finish this now all I can think of is the talking part on Alicia Key's U Don't Know My Name.

LIFE | Travel Diary: From Coachella To Joshua Tree To The Arts District

I must say this birthday was the best. Last year, I did almost the same exact thing I did last year, but I was blessed to have my cousin Empress join me. From the beginning it was a sketchy situation, we had our tickets since last year but wasn't sure where we would be staying, if we were camping etc.

The Thirst For Coachella 2015 & How It's Inspiring My Next Collection

Once again it's on and better than ever, especially because I'm rolling with my cousin Empress to the 2015 Coachella starring my favorite, Drake (bff in my head). This time last year I was doing visuals for Liebeskind Berlin in Soho, NYC (next to Supreme) on the flagship computer, my phone and ipad on line via the world wide web for Coachella tickets. I finally broke through and got one.

Yes, really I was going to Coachella by myself. Skip to it, my birthday the 110 degrees weather in California was amazing. It was a cool, hot peaceful situation that made me want to move to the westcoast, hence the move to Arizona. Now, back in Tennessee I'm still ready to embark on a fun adventure and also unleash a new collection.

Keep Coachella on your calendar, April 17th around then.

The Life Collection : Choosing The Fabrics

If you have read my previous post, this is about to be an experience and adventure that I would like you to join with me. I'm learning more about what I want for EYEPISSglitter to be and that is a collaborative influence of my peers. Working on this new collection is a challenge but a fun one at that. The first thing besides Choosing Moments (which I'll cover next) is Choosing The Fabrics.

 West Side!

West Side!

I know something bright (even with Autumn on the way) and I must find a cobalt blue, even if I have to dye it myself. What textures and colors are you feeling?

Didn't Think I Could Afford To Live On My Own BC Of My Travel Addiction

Seriously, if you know me in real life, you know I live to live and living to me is seeing and feeling everything good which involves loads of traveling. It's become an addiction throughout my years on this earth, so much that I'll go without sleep like it's healthy. I've learned that you need rest though. However, I'm fake getting better at it for the time being. But it has a lot to do with me just leaving my home town and trying something totally different. So it's finally here.

I've always dreamed of moving to a place where I didn't know anyone and nobody knew me. That's kind of the case here. I do have Asia, Krishna and Kenya here, but other than that it's just me. I've started working with a remarkable artist that the world is going to know in a few and then I landed my dream job. Even after that I was still scared that I wouldn't be able to stay in Arizona because those trips came with bills. I like to eat new foods when I travel too.

So it's finally here. After getting turned down to a few apartments I have one. No furniture yet, because I don't have the sewing machine (shout out to Bre sending me one/bestfriends/sisters forever:) but I'm very excited and honored to be alive in this world.

Shout out to Rodney & My mama. Phuk cancer.

Weekly Diary #2 | Bonnaroo 2014 Camp Life w/a Sprinkle of ATL

Finally, rejuvenated and fresh after about four showers. Surviving the camp life at Bonnaroo 2014 was not too big of a challenge. Spending time with six amazing people in a tent and learning more about each other was actually fun. I'm not going to get sappy but I will say FRIENDSHIP is very special to me and I'm blessed to know that I have formed great friendships that have turned into family over the years. Bonnaroo wouldn't have been the same without them.

 Swangin'.

Camp Life

Be prepared. Pack dry ice, roll with winners and bring a float.

Sprinkle of ATL

I had to stop in Atlanta before I headed out to Manchester. Seeing the progress of Dope XIV is amazing and it's going to really be revealed June 28th, 2014 at POLARROO. Bzy is not playing and so many great sounds coming out of the studio.

BTW. Missed Frank Ocean because we had to get our jackets (it was chilly at night) so I'll Youtube it because I heard he performed Sierra Leone and that's my sh*t.

No Her Shirt's Not Wrinkled, You're At A Nude Resort. PT. Uno

So a dolo trip to Mexico was much needed. Very spontaneous like my tattoo(shouts to my twin Cuzzo). As we all know there's a crazy lump of snow falling all over the east coast of the United States of America and escaping it was my mission. So I simply Googled: What's the hottest destination in the Western Hemisphere in January. The two options were Mexico and Belize. MY next option was inclusive, I didn't see any in Belize. But I had already been to Mexico last year. Yet, Cabos, nope, but Jaielle & Lindsay's birthday was on the way and we talked about going there.

Then Cancun appeared on my screen. But I don't want to party and be around loud stuff or kids. Wait, it's not Spring break season, I told myself. Eureka...look for a inclusive resort with no children allowed. So I found an "adult" resort. Dope right! Mimosas on deck food on plate!

  Preview Of Heaven.

Preview Of Heaven.

Through my travels, I've noticed there's so much more than getting on the plane.  If I would have know a few extra things existed it would make the journey that much more like a vacation.  I'll fast forward a bit. My favorite thing besides the actual destination is the plane ride itself.  I recently bought the Ostrich pillow, that is serving as the ultimate nap maker once I hop on the plane.

Carry On.

No really, even if you don't plan on bringing anything back with you bring it anyway. Or if you don't want to put your essentials under the plan and it's a quick two day trip settle for just a carry on. You'll save money. I'm attempting to fit a weekend worth of clothing in my Camo Paula D Liebeskind bag.

Comfy Kicks.

I'm a mixture of both. Most of the time it's comfortable versus dressy up for the airport. I dress up if I know it's a straight flight, like the day trip to Tennessee for my family reunion. I dressed for reunion because I went right to the reunion (after AnnaMarie got her lashes done:)

APP ON, SeatGuru.

This one is new for me. But I found it quite interesting you can see what is the best seat, how many people are on it and much more. Check it out. SeatGuru

Stay tuned for more. Next we'll be touching on hotels.

Resort Season | How To Choose The Best Place To Vacation

Relaxation should be one of the easiest things on earth to do, right? Eh, wrong. With so many interesting activities, books, films and food, sometimes it's hard to calm down and just enjoy breathing. Last year (can you believe it's 2014?), I was fortunate to visit my very first resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with my crew of sisters. We had an amazing time and I can't even think of what would top that. From swimming in the morning, swim up bars, live performances and a drive through the country side on dune buggies, it was the perfect trip.

  Beach Mode.

Beach Mode.

Now it's 2014 and it's freezing in NYC! The snow is falling and all I can think about is being on a beach somewhere hot, sweating and reading a good book. So I thought the only thing that's stopping me is ME.

But let's get to the nitty gritty. How do you choose the best resort for you? I'll be unveiling a few steps by the genre of what exactly you're looking to do.

Phase 1: Relaxation

jungle.jpg

If you're the spontaneous, wild type looking for a great escape (like myself) and would really just like to read a book on a nice quiet beach; make sure you listen up carefully. An adult only all inclusive is the way to go. No worrying about children splashing you with water by the pool if you're not trying to get wet. Peace and quiet with the mixture of the occasional CREEP may find its way but other than that you're safe. Plus you won't have to worry about spending money on food and drinks, it's free 99! Just think you'll have other singles around and if you go with friends it's even more fun.

Flirt at your own discretion.
