#106andTot Designer Encyclopedia: Roberto Cavalli
As soon as I finished my research, one thing in particular stood out about this designer. “Nature is my main source of inspiration, I will never stop taking hints from what I call ‘the greatest artist’, says Cavalli.” I thought that was so sweet yet it not only goes with fashion design but also life in general. But we’re not going to get too deep. We want to talk fashion.
As long as I could remember, I’ve always heard the name Roberto Cavalli. But one of the most amazing pieces I remember seeing was his dress worn on Beyonce in the Naughty Girl video. It was so vibrant the print was beautiful and you could tell the fabric was light. I later found out he used her as a muse and thought that’s why it look just like her.
Now, what makes Roberto Cavalli so special you ask? Well not only designing he started with painting and finds a great deal of influence in that aspect, the Florence native’s signature style is combinations of exotic feathers, light material and of course his light leather that can be worn day and night. I read a great interview about him and it makes me want to look back on all of his collections.
He has a Just Cavalli, a menswear line, a childrenswear line and perfume licenses as well.
