After eating at my favorite restaurant in Harlem I needed something sweet. Something to cure my sweet tooth was a must after taking a pulled pork sandwich, macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs and my Donkey Punch to the stomach and all of its apetite. Walking towards the train it alerted me, why not stop for a pistachio macaroon; too bad I didn’t get off on that side, plus I was headed to gate 108 which was right by Magnolia Bakery.
Usually I catch the bakery when they only have one item left and it always seems to be the Magic Cookie. I love the Magic Cookie…but am I the only one? Not sure doesn’t phase me though. But this time my visual tastebuds were surprised by so many flavors and categories of dessertful pleasure. So I chose to get the Pistachio, Carrot Cake, Coconut Lemon cupcakes and of course the Magic Cookie.
But, make no mistake, this evening it’s not about the Magic Cookie. I took it to the nuts of all nuts. The Pistachio Cupcake. Whip cream icing and a cinnamon flavored cake was delicious. I sopped it down with a can of peach nectar. Not a match but it’s great nonetheless. Try it:)
