Resort Season | How To Choose The Best Place To Vacation

Relaxation should be one of the easiest things on earth to do, right? Eh, wrong. With so many interesting activities, books, films and food, sometimes it's hard to calm down and just enjoy breathing. Last year (can you believe it's 2014?), I was fortunate to visit my very first resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with my crew of sisters. We had an amazing time and I can't even think of what would top that. From swimming in the morning, swim up bars, live performances and a drive through the country side on dune buggies, it was the perfect trip.

Beach Mode.

Now it's 2014 and it's freezing in NYC! The snow is falling and all I can think about is being on a beach somewhere hot, sweating and reading a good book. So I thought the only thing that's stopping me is ME.

But let's get to the nitty gritty. How do you choose the best resort for you? I'll be unveiling a few steps by the genre of what exactly you're looking to do.

Phase 1: Relaxation

If you're the spontaneous, wild type looking for a great escape (like myself) and would really just like to read a book on a nice quiet beach; make sure you listen up carefully. An adult only all inclusive is the way to go. No worrying about children splashing you with water by the pool if you're not trying to get wet. Peace and quiet with the mixture of the occasional CREEP may find its way but other than that you're safe. Plus you won't have to worry about spending money on food and drinks, it's free 99! Just think you'll have other singles around and if you go with friends it's even more fun.

Flirt at your own discretion.
