The 14th Day of Black History Month...Here's Plenty of Music:)

and food to eat while listening. As a self-proclaimed Food Enthusiast and Music Hoader, it’s a must to mix these two loves of mine together. I just recently mixed my meats together (Bacon Cheeseburger) and found it to be delcious. I’d like to share with you some music and great food to enjoy on this evening. Happy Black History Month and Happy Valentines Day.

Jon Connor: The Blue Album Hosted by DJ Green Lantern

Meal of Choice: Steak & Gravy w/White Rice & Asparagus; Catfish

Beverage of Choice: Simply Raspberry Lemonade & MD 2020

Yes, I put two entrees, because Jon sounds hungry. He opens with ‘The Ruler’s Back and yes he has his fun and his way with Jay-Z’s Blueprint and succeeds in making it his own. Besides the on going shout outs on the chorus on Takeover, we get a taste of his competitiveness. When I saw U Don’t Know, I thought he better not phuk this up…he didn’t. But just imagine for a moment, when you love the selection of tracks. The standout was definitely Show You How to Do This….I need some visuals asap.

Hartly: Movie in Your Heart

Meal of Choice: Blueberry Waffle & Shrimp

Beverage of Choice: Mimosas & Hennessy

I thought I would be surprised but knowing Hartly, I felt like he really had something he had covered up in a blanket waiting for the world to hear. This project takes you for the ultimate roller coaster of emotions with good production. I went from an alright relationship to getting it poppin’ in the club to heartbreak to a chill zone…all on a train to subway ride. The introduction gives us ‘Gravity’ for six minutes then he goes into his debut, Murder She Wrote very guitar’y but my favorites (since I have the energy of a two year old on a sugar rush after eating chess pie) are Side Chick, Act a Fool and Diamonds for Breakfast. After listening…I realize guys have emotions too:) & he says P*ssy a lot & I think of Max B:-? watch your mouth Hartly!

Plane Jane: The Prelude to Royalty x Hosted By DJ Crisis

Meal of Choice: Spaghetti with Ground Turkey & Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Beverage of Choice: Arizona Strawberry Colada x Rum

Plane Jane has been at it for sometime now. Making a lane for themselves is quite challenge but overcoming it has a bunch of benefits which can be heard on their latest project, The Prelude to Royalty. Wild bass, music for the jeeps and the soundtrack to your LEGAL daylight crimes. They’ve grown since, ‘I Piss Glitter’ (even though I wish it was on there), but still keep the same rambunctious recipe especially on Gone Green which makes it acceptable to stand on couches. If you were an Aaliyah fan, you’ll definitely enjoy ‘Love Jones’ make sure you cop a Jeep Wrangler while you’re at it, they slow it down on Love Quest and speed it up for the strippers on Getcha Money Girl, which reminds me a little of Beyonce’s A Milli. Overall,it’s definitely time for a video all I can think is balloons, glitter and fun…ladies make it happen.

Aleon Craft: Cosmic Valentine

Meal of Choice: Raspberry Gelato. Pistachio Macaroons & Stuffed Shrimps

Beverage of Choice: Mango Lemonade x Vanilla Vodka

This was one of the projects today that I totally understood why it was put out on Valentine’s Day. The title describes it perfectly…listening to it I felt like I was taking a acid candy trip through cotton candy clouds and heart shaped Peeps. I call it a Cavity listen. Although it was a total of seven tracks it was well rounded with ups and downs of love. Very different for me, I’m a drop kick your granny while your uncle Ricky blasts Today Was a Good Day kind of lady but it did put me at ease, hence the beverage of choice. Stand Outs: Moon Walk Her and Terrified. Stand Ehh Ehh:…Pluto. Expect more from Aleon and SMKA this coming March with a deluxe of the Cosmic Valentine.
