303 Writing Prompts | #1 The Ruby Red Rug & Adrenaline Rush
Starting a new ride. I love writing and it's time to explore more of my creative writing skills. I challenged myself to do 303 writing prompts. I'll do them each day or maybe a few a day, anything to sharpen my writing skills, express myself more and get everyone reading.
Here is the first one:
They had no idea it would end like this. Ruby red, gold trimming, royal blue details and a broken heart. Sounded nice in the beginning didn’t it. But just imagine a broken heart laying on a oriental rug. Lee was in the moment, she tended to always live her life spontaneously. Yearning for Mexican food, she wouldn’t go to the nearest Mexican restaurant, she’d look up the next flight to Mexico. But she’s in Cairo, and she’s not alone. Feeling safer than she has ever felt, James is actually having fun. At first getting him to go was a challenge in itself. But if he was going to be with her he had to know this was the life she chose or rather the life that chose her. As much as Lee loved traveling she loved the rush of accelerating not on the plane but that high and heightened adrenaline of moving weight.
Make no mistake it’s not drugs but it’s now 2040 and ferns are illegal. Lee was known as the Queen Planter, with the strongest ferns. Fern plants now help create a non-flammable gas mixture and it was way more sufficient than gasoline. Lee had the game on lock, yet James just knew her to Director of Sales at Travel Me Back. It made sense she traveled a lot, reviewed the places she stayed and got other people to travel in large groups as well, also known as a travel agent. James was waiting for the right time and this was the right time on top of The Great Pyramids of Giza. Illegal but Lee talked him into and what better than ask for her hand in marriage than her favorite place on earth.
The sky was beautiful that night as they stared at the stars, she yelled, “Look at the moon, let’s climb it.” “Climb the moon, we cant do that,” said James. Of course she was talking about the pyramid in front of them, but James was a little slow sometimes. As they begin climbing Jamesstopped in his tracks almost as if he had seen something. Something beautiful, something strong, something real something SUPERNATURAL, it was God. Lee noticed the look on his face, he seemed mesmerized. She called for him but stopped because she felt it too, but not in the same way in a way to keep going, don’t stop, go to the top. Suddenly she found herself leaving James behind flying up the pyramid and up and up and up and then down. She felt the ultimate rush of flying.
As James laid on the living room rug, she realized it was all a dream.
