#eyeADVENTURE | If You Attend The Nashville Art Crawl You're Bound To Leave w/Gemz

image.jpg

One of the best on going events happening Nashville that I enjoy to the fullest has to be the Nashville Art Crawl.  Taking place every first Saturday of the month, bringing out more than 10,000 people it’s definitely a certified #eyeADVENTURE.

I’ve been blessed to be apart of the Nashville Art Crawl, back in December 2015. I joined one of my favorite artists and good friend, Xavier Payne at Blend Studio, located in the Arcade building.

SPEAKING OF | Mark your calendars for September 17; Payne will be hosting a pop up shop at Blend Studio featuring some new pieces as well.

On this particular art crawl I truly enjoyed myself; so many great people and new works of art had me so into the night. Check out a few pieces here.

SAMPLES: Behind The Scenes of Gucci In Paris

Of course I was sitting here listening to Gucci Mane...Trap House 3 to be exact. Finding designing and sewing to be very therapeutic in what seems the toughest time in my life, I can truly say creating is a blessing. But alright on the mushy stuff.

Let's get on to how the sample came about. I loved the print by my favorite artist and fam, ThePrblms and thought that should be a wallpaper in my office. Then after I left Arizona and couldn't use the wallpaper at the moment, I had to bring it in somehow.

Now it's a lamp and pillow. We're just getting started. Our collaboration we have coming up is almost finished so get ready for that. Until then enjoy the Gucci In Paris.

Posting on Etsy in a few shakes.

FIRST LOOK: IKEA's New Eco-Friendly Collection That Screams Industrial Style

I'm finishing up one of my biggest projects yet, my first client in Tennessee/Texas. Working on a new concept is always fun and a bit of a challenge as well. Once you find out a particular style a client likes, that is where the party begins. My particular client, Homer is a lover of the Urban, Modern Industrial style.

This style is what you would see in a lot of denim stores such as Diesel or G-Star. A mix of metal and rustic wood are the key elements that separate it from traditional. Just in time for selecting client key pieces, Ikea just introduce a new eco-friendly collection, that gives off a "woodsy" yet modern clean cut look.

Take a peek at the new collection here that will be available February. Would you have these pieces in your home?

The Thirst For Coachella 2015 & How It's Inspiring My Next Collection

Once again it's on and better than ever, especially because I'm rolling with my cousin Empress to the 2015 Coachella starring my favorite, Drake (bff in my head). This time last year I was doing visuals for Liebeskind Berlin in Soho, NYC (next to Supreme) on the flagship computer, my phone and ipad on line via the world wide web for Coachella tickets. I finally broke through and got one.

Yes, really I was going to Coachella by myself. Skip to it, my birthday the 110 degrees weather in California was amazing. It was a cool, hot peaceful situation that made me want to move to the westcoast, hence the move to Arizona. Now, back in Tennessee I'm still ready to embark on a fun adventure and also unleash a new collection.

Keep Coachella on your calendar, April 17th around then.

Adding Glamour To Your Cribnasium Without Ballin' Out Of Control

With a new season coming up and new colors to excite us, we would also like to add that new feel in our home. When we think of adding something new, we often think of spending big bucks to make it happen. Particularly in the house we tend to buy new accent pieces, that we'll find ourselves not using at all.

 So Open.

So Open.

Start with longer curtains. Who said you had to start the curtain line right above the window? Reach higher and start at the top, almost to the ceiling.

 Fur Life Might Make It.

Add a few pieces of fur on some of your pieces. It makes for a great contrast and gives a rich look as well.

 You're So Vain.

You're So Vain.

Not really, but adding mirrors will reflect light and in return make your space look bigger.

The Life Collection: Creating By The Pool

Although I really want to buy some artwork from a few great artists like Ronald Draper and one of my favorite gallery curators, Perri Dash, I can't quite do that just yet. Not to mention I want a huge piece from the two of them. In the meantime, instead of sitting in the house and writing or going to Starbucks to spend money on coffee I don't want, I went for a quick field trip to the pool.

Not a huge space I have, but I do want to add some color and get my creative juices for The Life Collection flowing. I can already see this will be a moment that will be a huge part of my creative process. What makes it even better is the fact that Wave Chapelle just sent me four unheard tracks that he'll be releasing off his upcoming mixtape Only The Beginning.

Don't forget music is a HUGE part on how I make furniture, so the new tunes will definitely be an impact on a few designs. Stay Tuned.

The Life Collection : Choosing The Fabrics

If you have read my previous post, this is about to be an experience and adventure that I would like you to join with me. I'm learning more about what I want for EYEPISSglitter to be and that is a collaborative influence of my peers. Working on this new collection is a challenge but a fun one at that. The first thing besides Choosing Moments (which I'll cover next) is Choosing The Fabrics.

 West Side!

I know something bright (even with Autumn on the way) and I must find a cobalt blue, even if I have to dye it myself. What textures and colors are you feeling?

The Three Dimensional Manicure x SICK

The name of this section is Inspiration isn't it? Well I've noticed my lack of showing just that. I'm always checking out what's new in any industry, whether it be fashion, music, architecture, film and of course interior design. Peep this though.

 Shapeways.

Shapeways.

This is what happens when you get three digital artists together for some fun with nails. Of course I had to point out the purple nails. The texture is amazing and interesting. I think it really takes nail art to another level. The nails are available on Shapeways, see more here.

SICK DESIGN | The Mickey Egg Chair

I'm always intrigued by unique chair design. My favorite pieces usually still serve their purpose of being comfortable but also something special with a twist. Color and shape make or break a chair for me. Just recently I came upon the Mickey Egg Chair and was immediately drawn to it.

The Mickey Egg Chair is a mash up of the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for Radisson SAS Hotel in Copenhagen and Mickey Mivu's take on the iconic chair.

Would you add this to your home?

Designer Inspiration | The Rubber Band Pillow

Is it ok to have a favorite design on your very first day? I'm not really asking, yet I'm so excited. I ran into this pillow and was completely stunned! The design is fun, unique and quite comfortable. I'm learning so much by the day. So many chairs, designers, vases all that you can think of that will go into ones home, office, salon etc.

The Rubber Band pillow is my favorite at this very moment, besides my own pillows. Would you put this in your home?

The Much Needed Photo Shoot in The Entire History of Pillows

I'm a sucker for prints and patterns. It just so happens so are some of my clients. In this, from the whole process you were there. Now the pillows are completed. Fluffly, yet firm and with a persona out of this state. My client decided on the Geometric style and Mexico.

 Mexico x Geometry (18 x 18)

Mexico x Geometry (18 x 18)

It is indeed my WEAKness of The Week and I'm already thinking to myself where I would like to put them. Although, they are going to a client, I'm thinking of creating an ottoman to match.

This is just a little snag of the photo shoot that was done of the pillows. I have more shots you can find them at store:)

They are 18 x 18 and retail for $48 USD (each). Take a look at more at The EYEPISSGLITTER Digital Flagship Store.
