#eyePISSGLITTER | Mouth Adventure | Five Nashville Foodie Hot Spots

As the seasons begin to change so do our tastebuds, in this case it was only right to get a nice list started for some must stop spots. This time around, we're taking a trip to the Music City capital, Nashville, Tennessee. With so many new restaurants opening it may seem hard to keep up, but that's why you have EYEPISSGLITTER as your friendly guide. Now don't get sad if you don't see your favorite restaurant yet, believe me there are plenty of categories we have coming up, plus we'll sit directly with the owners to see what's best.

Check out our ver first Mouth Adventure of five Nashville spots you want to check out...NOW!

I want everything.

I want everything.

Heard to be on of Nashville’s youngest fresh made to order bakery. This is a family owned bakery where it doesn’t use any GMO, chemical preservatives, hydro oils, or any artificial colors and flavors. It has been the talk in some of my Group Me with young alumni/professionals.

The mimosas though.

The mimosas though.

Nice laid back Mexican Cuisine. Includes top shelf/premium tequila. They have happy hour on select days. Also they have a lovely balcony/patio if you ever want to cool out after a long day of work.

PRINCE'S HOT CHICKEN - Ewing Lane & Murfreesboro Road

Tasty fire in my mouth.

Tasty fire in my mouth.

The FIRST Nashville Hot chicken joint. You can go to this place for lunch, dinner, or after the club. The one on Ewing Lane stays open until about 1 am. You will not be disappointed. If you are a lover of REAL hot chicken look no further.

CLYDE'S - Church Street

I beat everyone in UNO here.

Newly opened sports bar theme. When I say sports bar I am meaning ping pong tables and other game stations. It is a laid back vibe, not too loud or not too quiet. They have a wonderful food menu. It is jumping during happy hour or on Friday or Saturday nights.

After The Set.

After The Set.

Located in the heart of 5 points, here is a pizza place that you must try. Handmade from scratch pizza. It is made to order. SO you will not be disappointed.

#eyeADVENTURE | Five +1 Things You Missed At The Set 40oz Bounce Nashville Edition

No, really, as we get ready for the next one it's only right you know how it went down at the One-Year Anniversary of The Set. Responsible for curating house party, yet organized dope vibes, The Set has been putting together various themed parties that have made lovers of Hip-Hop really appreciate having a place to let it all out on the dance floor, take cool pictures to capture the moment, enjoy live art, great settings and to just be.

To celebrate one full year of good times, Protect The Culture turned it up a notch and collaborated with my fellow New Yorker, 40oz Van for The Set 40oz Bounce Nashville Edition and it turned out to be something quite special. Not wanting to rub it in your face we minimized the list of good times to the five ehh, six things you missed. Check them out below

And make sure you don't miss the next Set, September 16.

  1. One of the best performances from Alocodaman I've ever seen (which 40oz Van got on staged and captured it on Snapchat)
  2. A completely sold out venue of 540 when the capacity calls for 500
  3. One of the most innovative photobooth designs from @idreaminblueray (2 Life sized, personalized Set 40s)
  4. Kamiayah's DJ... Ohso.... I mean she's DJ OHSO and a woman of dopeness. Such a great vibe with her was felt
  5. A true celebration of Nashville's hidden gem... Being in attendance literally made you capture the feeling of what it means to be 2 Live From the Set

Thanks D'llisha for sharing your favorite moments! This was a certified #eyeADVENTURE

RECAP: Meeting of The Minds at Documentary | Book Club

A special thanks to Barista Parlor, for a cool space to enjoy conversation and espresso for the first meeting of the Documentary|Book Club! Our first selection was The Happy Movie. This documentary showed us various studies of happiness. From people dying from working so much in Japan to a country in Asia with the most 107 year olds. We saw a complete difference. We discussed what makes us happy, the definition of success and how important self-awareness is.

Of course we got on the subject of social media and I brought up how I had been taking a sabbatical from it. It's been a week and I can say I feel better. Better in a way that I'm not holding my phone in my hand for dear life and missing what is going on in front of me. Social media is a great way to meet new people, if it weren't for social media I wouldn't have had the Documentary|Book Club. But I realized during the time I wasn't on social media, I began reading more again and then realized some of the words I wasn't familiar with. That kind of stung me. I got back on the other day to thank the great people of Nashville who I mentioned in my last feature for The Source Magazine. But now it's break time again and hopefully I meet all the great people I mentioned in person vs a Tweet.

I'm already looking forward to the next meeting. We have already chosen our next documentary (notice it's not a book yet, shout out to Reci, Latavia, Kristain and Nikki).

"Banksy vs Robbo & The Graffiti War

atch it and lookout for the field trip to match. We're working on the day.

Documentary | Book Club: We Have A Date & Location!

We finally picked a date & location. The date is two weeks from now, so if you usually work on a Saturday you can take off, or leave early. We chose Barista Parlor because it's super swanky!

HAPPY! was selected because it's something we can all identify with, the documentary goes in search of what makes people happy and their definition of happiness.

Make sure you RSVP by February 13. So I can make sure I have enough Goody Boxes for everyone.
