#eyePISSGLITTER | Cultural Festival Yoga On A Rooftop & More In Nashville This Weekend

So as I look around, I'm finding more and more exciting things to do in Nashville. If I can't be at everything, I'm sure someone I know will be. If you're in the area and looking for something to do this weekend before you get ready for the Beyonce concert on Sunday, check out a few activities that you and a few friends would enjoy. And tell them they've been EYEPISSGLITTER Certified!

Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival

Food. Ok, there's more than food it's actually a great event to bring your kids, little cousins, or some children you know. If you decide not to, it's extra fun, food from every culture you can think of, art, performances and a park of love and people sharing and caring for their culture. It takes place at Centennial Park, Saturday 10AM-6PM.

And it just so happens to be the last one, since it is getting cold. I'm so sad I'm late finding out about this. But if you're lucky enough to RSVP and attend, have fun for me. It's at ACME, so you know it's going to be fun and they have drink specials!

Knowledge is power and if you want to know more about how it's made and the tastes, you should definitely go. Also, there will be a cigar bar, grown and sexy! Tickets are $100 VIP $150

Beats & Brushes

I never get to go to any of the cool stuff, nope, just playing. But I have yet to attend the Beats & Brushes event. As we step into the cold crispy weather and get ready for a spooky Halloween, why not have some fun in the art realm. For this installment of Beats & Brushes they chose to do a tribute to Michael Jackson's Thriller. This should be really fun. More info here

Homemade & Bound Nashville Festival

If you love Zines, independent published books, mini-comics and prints, this is the place for you this weekend. Watkins Community Education is a sponsor, so you know it's going to be full of great art! Local artists present their work via the series Stitches + Stories which showcase handmade books inspired by the healing power of art and storytelling. Sounds dope right. So go!

Art Crawl

Every first Saturday of the month from 6PM-9PM you can get your life by meeting new people, viewing great art exhibits and of course the free wine. Being that I always find myself downtown in the Arcade this time I'll make my way in the Wedgewood/Houston neighborhood. Hope to see you there.

Tot's Tunes | August 22, 2016: Faux Fall Feels

I can't believe, we'll soon be covered in layers of clothing shivering with the heat on full blast listening to Christmas Carols. Ok, I'm being a little dramatic and skipping the entire Fall season. But that's what it feels like. Like I always say, "If it's not hot, it's cold." Speaking of cold, it was a bit chilly this morning. I got a little worried, then I started sweating. But it made me think of some good tunes. Check them out below.

Documentary | Book Club: We Have A Date & Location!

We finally picked a date & location. The date is two weeks from now, so if you usually work on a Saturday you can take off, or leave early. We chose Barista Parlor because it's super swanky!

HAPPY! was selected because it's something we can all identify with, the documentary goes in search of what makes people happy and their definition of happiness.

Make sure you RSVP by February 13. So I can make sure I have enough Goody Boxes for everyone.

There In Spirit: Pusha T x Open Mic In Nashville via @2Lsonacloud

Music is always a huge influence on my designing process! I thought I wouldn't get to see one of my favorite artists, with his debut solo album perform. I'm staying clear of concerts for the moment.  But just then I got the hookup via the great people at 2LsOnaCloud

Check out Pusha T (not me) perform in Music City Nashville, Tennessee.

Top Five Things I'm Looking Forward to at #SXSR3

Nashville, Tennessee is in for a such a treat on September 1, 2012, not only is it my family reunion (Scales Family Reunion whoop whoop) but the third edition of Sneakers N Speakers is taking place with so many things this season. Not only will we have great artists like Smoke DZA taking the stage but as always a great cause is involved, with Soles 4 Souls as well as the Lupus Foundation!

Previous Sneakers N Speakers events, Air Jordan Cement III’s were given away following up with that more surprises upon us! Being the largest major sneaker conference in the Middle Tennessee area not only will attendees enjoy the #Hooping4Lupus Basketball game, performances from KD, Hollyweerd, The GTW, Isaiah Rashad, P.A. Lit, Miloh Smith, Kembe X, Mach Five, Kaby, Petty, Rikki Blu, Future the Artist, Just Thougtz, Ducko Mcfli, Gee Slab, Case Arnold and Harlem’s own Smoke DZA, there will also be vendors with great things to purchase and sneaker showcases like no other!

Which now brings us to the Top Five Things I’m Looking Forward to at #SXSR3

(in no particular order)

  1. The Music. (Freggin’ Smoke DZA is performing, I’m going to TN & Harlem is going to be there, plus new talent!)
  2. The Energy. (Live music, djs, sneakers, nothing but smiles the whole day!)
  3. The Sneakers. (I can’t wait to see what all the exhibits are going to look like and what everyone else will be wearing)
  4. The Tables. (I want new stuff that you can’t get anywhere, I like bargains)
  5. Seeing all the sneakers heads, music heads, fan of all things cool in one building! Rahhh!

BONUS: MY SXS FAM!!! (Can’t wait to chat with everyone & eat good food & of course my t-shirt!

This is really special to me because for the past year I always work with the event but I haven’t been able to attend but this time…I’m in the building and I think I’m showing my sneaker showcase:)
