#eyePISSGLITTER | @HeyEryka Tells Us What Made @chancetherapper's Magnificent Coloring Day

You can't deny that there are so many new festivals popping up! This year alone has brought millions of people out from January 2016 to now. We've been to Bonnaroo, Coachella, Made In America, Bumbershoot, Burning Man, Life Is Good and more; this time I got with another fellow festival lover, Eryka! She recently attended Chance The Rapper's Magnificent Coloring Day in Chicago, Illinois. I so wanted to go but I attended a festival of love better known as Chris & Melody's wedding!!! (It was so beautiful by the way).

So, since I'm sure I'm not the only one who missed out, Eryka gave us a little bit to hopefully look forward to next year.

  • Chance being Chance and wonderful. It's amazing seeing how far he's come and that he's able to do this for his city
  • A dope ass line up and surprise guests that LITERALLY kept you on your feet
  • Listening to a FULL stadium singing in unison
  • Experiencing it with friends who know when you say you're going to Chicago for Chance they know you'll do it whether or not somebody is with you so they tag along for the ride!

Are you hitting up any cool festivals or events and want to share how much fun you had? Be sure to email me & let me know.

Dear Kanye West, You Lied Unless. It Was A Figment Of My Imagination

Like the seasons change, often do people and what they want. We're all humans and whether you like it or not, we have our own views and opinions. Speaking of opinions, Kanye West better known my BFF (in my head) is very known for making others feel the wrath of what he thinks and even if you don't agree it may actually get the wheels cranking in your brain.

This time it's not opinions that get to me, because sometimes I do agree with YeezBaker (bff thing you wouldn't understand). But come on son, really Kanye, $350 for the Yeezy 750 Boost! Isn't this about control? Didn't you want more control over at Nike? Wasn't that an issue? So when you went to Adidas, did you mention that you wanted to set the price? Ohhh, not for the first go round, yeah ok.

“I want to apologize to all the kids and all the parents that can’t get the shoes currently because there’s only 9,00 and also because they’re $350 and if they’re out of anyone’s price range.”

-Kanye West

I don't know. This may just be a build up from what took place during the Yeezus show at Madison Square Garden, rewind back to when were to slated to attend the Yeezus show in Denver but the concert was cancelled and flight cancelled, or it may be the horrid performance at 2014's Bonnaroo or the $120 A.P.C collaboration plain white tee shirt, or the whole letting a man not of our culture or ethinicity call his collection Last N*'s In Paris...

You see where I'm getting. Maybe what I thought we had in common, we just don't anymore. Which goes back to the initial statement,

"Like the seasons change, often do people and what they want."

A Good Day to be Alive.

Between watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for the millionth time and actually living life, I sat down yesterday and realized I’ve learned so much. Not a “I know everything” learn but a wow, we’re all just learning and learning is so cool especially together and on your own as well. It has been an eye opening week of gratitude and I just had to write about it this morning. My heart is smiling because my Grandpa was able to go to Tennessee (his home state) this week and my mama has been sending me photos and it just warms my heart to see him so happy and enjoying his time with family, friends, food and you know Tennessee!

Then so thankful for my cousin who doesn’t give up on me and the same here. We’re going to Bonnaroo (Our Roo) together along with my other two bestfriends (partner’s in legal crime) and I can only imagine the fun we’re going to have. The thought of it is just mind-blowing. Then speaking with my little cousin and just hearing her thoughts of her college experience thus far is amazing and makes me think about my experience. I want the best for everyone and making sure she’s on her shyt is very important and her older cousin wants that too.

This is getting long but overall, I’m very grateful for this time in my life. I get to see my bestfriends dreams come true! I hope reading this at another day when I may not be feeling so JOLLY I’ll be evoked to do something great. But if you’re reading this I love you.

The Opposite of Writer's Block & Exclude Writing.

Maybe we’ll call this an Idea Stew! Brewing, pondering but putting it into action. Plus I really just wanted to use this cool .GIF :)

Other than that, I know I shouldn’t talk about the future, live in the present, blah blah blah…but I’m so psyched about this summer…as I watch the snow fall! Music is so good this year and I’m really excited about the world of art!

I have a bunch of ideas and not enough paper or medium to put it all down. The best way is just to get started.

The .GIF above reflects me when I’m in my zone.

Magazine Connoisseur: VMAN. Spring 2011. Kanye West. The Thrill Of The Game Issue.

Yay! I got the dollar! I was so excited Yeezy was on the cover plus it was just dope! This was a great write-up because it talked more about his work ethic with fashion as well. Quotes from your favorite likes Karl Lagerfeld were cute. But when it comes to Kanye West, I always say he doesn’t need the co-sign, that’s my Nukka!

Other than that he was on the verge of releasing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, so he was really letting the music speak for itself. The album great and I was excited to hear from him post the Taylor Swift incident.

Listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, won’t you.

Magazine Connoisseur: Rolling Stones. Sept. 2007. 50 Cent vs. Kanye West

No secret I LOVE magazines. Not only magazines but the actual print of the magazine. I still have magazine from 1999. So I thought I would share. I still enjoy flipping through the pages of past and present magazines. From the old advertisements, to the cover story and of course the content I READ.

Just think, I’m still reading the September issue of Vogue…from 2010. But I digress:)

This first pick is from Rolling Stone magazine. I was so into the 50 Cent and Kanye West album dropping on the same day. I even managed to host a listening party for both during my sophomore year of college via Culture Shock Mag. It was so much fun. We had Vitamin Water on deck, Kanye West and 50 Cent promotion products via my street teaming days and we had a unforgettable freestyle battle.

Check out a few pages from one of my favorite issues. This is when the size was huge, massive content and I don’t think the iPhone was out.
